It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100 processor with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The LG Watch Timepiece will reportedly be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance as well as be compatible with changeable watch bands. So even if this is being done to set the LG Watch Timepiece apart from the competition, it remains to be seen if it wins over any fans because of its unorthodox design. However, one would expect that this implementation would make it difficult to use conventional Wear OS apps since the analog hands would obstruct the view. It may also function the same way for a barometer. This implementation would allow for some new use cases which users will be able to take advantage of.įor instance, the watch face could be used as a compass with the analog watch hands moving over the LCD display to replicate a compass. The device will charge through a USB Type-C port. Nothing has been confirmed yet by LG, but the company has. Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.2 will be on board, but no cellular data support. The Watch Timepiece is heavily rumored to feature real hands over the top of a touchscreen, so that you can use Wear OS features. The Timepiece also has 4GB of eMMC storage, 768 MB of RAM, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 2100 chipset. The smartwatch measures 45.5 x 45.4 x 12.9 mm, coming in between the aforementioned Watch Sport and Watch Style in this regard. ![]() It will boast a 1.2-inch 360x360 LCD screen and a 240 mAh battery. That said, this won't be a straight-up smartwatch in the vein of the LG Watch Sport or Style, both models which launched last year. ![]() It will be called LG Watch Timepiece, and will run Google's newly renamed Wear OS. It is a hybrid, therefore, and can even have the operating system disabled to save on. According to a new rumor, LG is working on a new wrist worn wearable.
